305 ARTS CENTER

PROF. HUNTER

For my 305 studio class, I designed an Arts Center located in Houston’s Energy Corridor District. The building is organized around three departments: visual arts, performance arts, and crafts. The performance sector features a black box theater designed for flexible, anywhere‑anytime productions. The visual arts department houses the makerspace and provides all necessary materials for students and the public. The crafts department includes two dedicated studios that support a wide range of classes.

The building’s massing reflects these three programmatic zones. The visual and craft departments are grouped together, while the performance department is set apart, with a central lobby acting as the shared gathering space for the entire facility.
